Our 72 Nova was so rusted out when you turned on the gravel road going home the inside filled with huge clouds of dust. Everyone knew to roll their window down coming up to that turn.
Mom had a 65 Ford Fairlane - about a foot square section of floorboard dropped out while I was the passenger. I didn't "Flintstone" but it was close. Mom patched that up with some sheet metal and roofing tar. Serious. Our 72 Nova was so rusted out when you turned on the gravel road going home the inside filled with huge clouds of dust. Take it to Subaru, tell them what it was doing and that "a shady mechanic fixed it" and you want them to check for any codes, and any issues with the install. Might cost a diagnostic fee, but if it helps you have peace of mind, why not?Holy shit, I think I fixed my transmission. Got it all back together, filled, and all dash lights out. Test drive went fine.
I still feel like I did something wrong and am unnecessarily nervous.

It was mind-numbingly simple. It's just that I've never done any work on the transmission, which just generally makes me uneasy. The next time I have to drop a transmission pan, I probably won't care at all.Take it to Subaru, tell them what it was doing and that "a shady mechanic fixed it" and you want them to check for any codes, and any issues with the install. If it's working normally and the oh shit lights aren't coming on you did great. It was mind-numbingly simple. It's just that I've never done any work on the transmission, which just generally makes me uneasy. The next time I have to drop a transmission pan, I probably won't care at all.
fuckin awesome dude. You got the solenoid and managed to swap it into the existing body?Holy shit, I think I fixed my transmission. Got it all back together, filled, and all dash lights out. Test drive went fine.

You barely loosen the bolts on one corner, remove them on the opposite corner, and back out the ones in between progressively so the pan will tilt towards the corner you removed the bolts from but still hang up there.Removing an automatic transmission pan is a fucking whore of a job. Why the hell can't they put drain plugs in the things? I understand it's because they want people to change the filter too, but fuck it's hard to contain the mess it makes.
Well done @fly.
On this day, Jerry Curl is discovered. First skit so take a look.If it gets messy don't worry, atf does wonders for your hair, if chicks only knew they would go in debt for that treatment.

Correct!fuckin awesome dude. You got the solenoid and managed to swap it into the existing body?
I hate to take the wind out of my sails, but it has a drain plug. Not that it really matters, as it seemed like most of it came out when taking out the screen, and then again with the valve body.Removing an automatic transmission pan is a fucking whore of a job. The whole fucking house still smells like that shit for some reason. If it gets messy don't worry, atf does wonders for your hair, if chicks only knew they would go in debt for that treatment.
