In an excellent demonstration of my manual dexterity, I managed to break the nipple off the filler neck of the GTO's radiator while removing to get the timing cover off.
So, now I've got a big-ass aluminum unit coming in next week. I took the old one down to the radiator shop and basically asked to be upsold, because I'm sick and tired of the marginal cooling performance of this car. I'll probably also reinstall the electric fans, and run the Sniper's fan control lines up to some relays in the space above the fender well with the vacuum pump for the brakes.

My days of letting the perfect be the enemy of the good are certainly reaching a middle.
Sealed up the radiator by bending some flanges from 1/8" aluminum.
Then sealed up the rest of the shroud with some thick weather stripping, after attaching it to the flange.

Follow up: the Mishimoto fans were not up to snuff for the job, and the temperatures at radiator exit were not sufficiently cool.
I installed a set of Derale 1400CFM 14" puller fans, and set up one of the Mishimotos as a pusher on the front, relayed to the clutch demand line for the AC. Result was 195°F coolant temps, sitting in the driveway during the hottest part of the hottest day of the year so far.

Sat in the gate traffic today in the Pontiac for a half hour at about 85F ambient with the AC on, and the coolant temperature never breached 200F.
Had an oh-shit moment, have to give the cart back next weekend, so we got cracking and patched the holes in the cabin (there are still holes that need attention in the wheel wells, but those are doable with the frame under it).
We blasted it out first with the pressure washer, but it's in good stead and we'll undercoat bits of it tomorrow.

Spent a couple weeks painting this fucking air cleaner and letting it cure and painting again etc and then I go to install it and the damn thing doesn't fit.

I was looking all over the place for a damn air filter that would fit. No luck anywhere. Summit was the best option and they still didn't give enough information.
