Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

All out of old-work ones and two's here, only got 3 gangers, in plastic.

Limited selection of 1 gang new-work in plastic.

Plenty of metal ones, but if you have a job that needs doin' those will go quick too.
Weird. There must have been 200 plastic, old work 1 gang boxes. Shit maybe I need to buy them all and sell them on Amazon.

I meant the quality is the joke on us. You guys are sending us the Trump grade stuff.
US importers: "We have to pay the government all this $$$ in tariffs, so we can only pay you $fuckall for 2x4's!"
Canada: "Fine then"

*canada goes through the lumberyard*

Canada: "hey, this one has both a warp and a twist! perfect!"

Question: is there a name for this particular thing?

Rebuilding a snowblower and destroyed two of these, trying to figure out what the fuck they're called so I can buy more.
push on nut

Closest thing McMaster sells, OD is smaller for the bolt size but I guess it'll work.

Another thing the snowblower needs is an auger shaft bearing:

Which appears to be one of these just missing the collar, dimensions all match up:

Except these bearings have an oiling hole which I guess you just ignore? hmmm.

Cost is the same, Hue goes right into HomeKit/HA.
My problem with bulbs is that people can turn them off, and then automation stops. If it's on a switch, I replace it with a ZWave switch. While I do have some bulbs in lamps right now, in the future, they will have smart plugs and a button near them to turn on/off. :iono:
