Yes I'd like to get rid of my electric bill. You mean I have to confine myself to one entire room just to see a tv AND actually get off my ass to turn a light on? Omg we're really roughin it now, hon.
Solar would be awesome in any case, just for the independence if nothing else.
Big Energy™ is gonna fuck this somehow. No way they'll just let everybody free of their leash.

Hitatchi's are electric only. He's gotta stop running Mrs. Valve's Hitachi magic wand on 'em.
Solar trickle chargers are a small step for mankind.Small, affordable, but easily scalable systems that can be set up and run by the average Joe, independent of the grid tie, without running into legal or code issues.
Like the solar equivalent of hooking a few things up to a generator, expanding on it when you can. No huge upfront cost that takes 30 years to break even.
Leave all the grid stuff there, completely independent from the solar system, and just plug into it when you need to, until someday you don't.
I know a couple guys who've done just that, but they live out in bfe without all the restrictions of a city. Not gonna get away with that under city code departments or hoa regs. Hell even without the hoa regs you're not supposed to live in a place that doesn't have utilities hooked up. Fn commies.

Yep. It's 1500 sq ft. Divide that buy 4 and thats 375 each. You can't get a 3 bedroom house for much smaller. Especially if you don't want to live next to crack head Jim.Compared to your 18,000 square foot mayun cave farm on 5 acres yes.
