Advice The Home Improvement/Automation Thread

I'm going to use our butcher block Ikea kitchen island as a brew table.

Had to refinish the top. Sanded it with 220 and then 320 grit with my random orbit palm sander, and applied the first coat of Butcher Block oil.

This morning I gave it a light sand with some 400 grit and put a second coat on.

Looks brand new.

I'm tempted to put it on locking casters so it could double as a tasting bar.

Next up is plumbing.

The laundry sink on the opposite side of the room has a faucet with busted hose threads on it, it's original, and a little green in spots from the well water. I'll probably just swap it out.

As for the brew table, I'm thinking about putting in a 3/4 hose spigot on the wall I built for convenience.

There's hot and cold water 8' away and it'll be easy to grab a cold water line and make it easier to fill up the brew pot.

And then electrical.

And a condensate hood vented to the outside.

Goal is to be done by the end of the month.
