I've had everything from a 6.5 to a 10.5. My last driver was the Ping G10 10.5 degree, which my father nicknamed the Howitzer, because of how high I hit the ball. I think it was mostly a function of the shaft though. High launch shafts aren't any good for me.
Golf sounds awfully complicated. I used to think it was just a bunch of poorly dressed old men spending time on a lawn away from their wives.
the irons heads are all angled differently, 1 being the least, 9 being the highest. with less angle, you tend to hit the ball far. with more angle, you tend to hit it high but not as far.
there's also a sand wedge and a pitching wedge that hit the ball at a really steep angle but short to get over various obstacles and out of sand traps.
drivers have less of an angle and are for those long shots... and are also rated 1,2,3,4,5,etc. i think.

Hardly anyone makes sets with 2 irons now. Most people opt for hybrids. Low lofted irons are difficult for people to get airborne. They say the average golfer consistently hits a 6 iron about as far as a 3 iron, but with much more control. Mostly because the 6 iron can be struck well, and the 3 iron not. I know a couple of good golfers who have no irons longer than 5. All hybrids and woods above that.
only played once in probably the last 6 years. but bought new golf shoes on sale two days ago cause I wanna start playing again.
lawl. hybrids are for chumps
Can one put spinners on golf shoes?
Agreed. Either you can hit your woods or you cant, and either you can get distance out of your irons or you can't.
