Fantastic match for Chelsea. 6-0 over West Brom. Drogba with the hat trick. Played as a squad today, which is reassuring after their less than stellar preseason. Opening day is a great success.

Liverpool v. Arsenal tomorrow. Looking forward to that one.

there's been some talk of arthur blank, owner of the falcons, bringing a soccer franchise to atlanta

Atlanta is a good soccer market. Large population with suitable venues and a plethora of local programs.

"Real" football is boring as fuck. Run three yards, take a break. Run two, take another. Lose 5 yards, blow a whistle, commercial time. In any given football game there is approximately 7 minutes of actual contest. I don't know how anyone watches it. No continuity, no action, no point. Soccer games are 45 minute halves of continuous, commercial free sport. I'll take that any day.
