Could be age I guess. I'm kinda baffled. I suppose it's possible I did something other than run about two months ago to irritate it, and the running has prevented it from properly fixing itself.So, I've been reading your posts on this (I think we had this convo last yr too) & now wonder if age has anything to do with it.

That isn't what I'm saying. There are plenty of studies that show stretching (correctly) before running increases the chance of injury.I stretch every morning, and it wakes me up.
As far as stretching before running, I think it helps. The idea isn't that you stretch so much that it hurts or anything close to that, the idea is that you take your muscles outside their normal function just a tad bit to get a little more blood flowing to them.
If you're stretching and it hurts, you're doing it wrong.
