Doubt I would have got one under normal circumstance though

Would be nice to clean up the hard drive on a couple disks though. I remember saying the same thing when I switched from cd to dvd, lol

Yeah, I probably won't get one until it becomes impossible to find regular DVD's.

Or they're dirt cheap, and my existing DVD player has died

it's pointless to invest in a blu ray player for movies till you've got 1080p anyway - don't buy into anyone saying any lower resolution looks better on your HD tv cause it's blu ray. that's a lot of bs
