Ontopic The 3D printing thread

Damnit, now the Z motor sounds like a fuckin' machine gun and won't move the X gantry at all.

I've tried:
replacing the motor with a new one
replacing the ribbon cable
adjusting the Vref on the mainboard (currently ~0.5V)
lubing and adjusting the z rod
tightening the Z rod coupler

I'm thinking something's gone wonky with the driver. Gonna flash a spare board I've got hanging around and see if that does the necessary.

I see Griffin Paquette / TH3D's replacement board is pretty close to shipping. Selling for 89 bux US.
I'm in the pre order group. I just had a hot spare sitting on my shelf.

Edit: I hadn't flashed it to Marlin 1.1.9 yet, so that's why I was bitching about the CH340 crap. Apparently they switched bridge chips for the 1.1.4 mainboard.

GEEED UP BEYOTCH.

Trying out Seeed Fusion PCBA service.

$120 CAD taxes in delivered to my door for three fully assembled boards, plus a couple of blanks. $65 of that cost is TMC2208 stepper drivers.

It's got 2 Zs and 2 Es?
It's six stepper drivers, configure them however you want in Marlin.

Original plan for my Hypercube build was to do 2*Z + 2*E, but I might actually end up doing three Z's on it, then convert my i3 clone to dual extrusion.
