Yes, and thank god that came through. pre-race we were looking at sitting on the water in no wind, baking our balls off waiting for them to cancel the race for no wind. Then that storm came through, cooled things off, got us wet, and brought some wind. Turned into a beautiful evening.
They cancelled racing at the Fort Worth Boat Club because of the storm, but they didn't at Grapevine. Not sure why, they usually do when there's any lightning. I was pleased they let us finish.
I did not. Did you hear my tale of standing lashed to the forestay with wave after wave breaking 20 feet over my head screaming obscenities at the wind, daring it to come get me?I caught a 3 lb. catfish during that shit. It was awesome. Waist deep, fighting for my very life against raging tempest and bloodthirsty beast from the depths. Thunder and lightning, waves crashing over me, salt and brine stinging my crazed eyes...I was like Ahab, fisherman of legend. Perhaps you witnessed my epic struggle, or heard of it over an ale in port thereafter.

Were you fishing on Grapevine? Northshore? We actually got up that way just as the storm was coming in.
i was just going to come down for the day. it's about 3 hours of interstate to austin, which isn't a big deal. fredericksburg is about 4 and a half of secondary road according to google.Where do you stay? We'll be an hour and a half away from Austin on Sunday in Fredricksburg. Is that any closer to you? Maybe meet halfway?
