Tesla Motors gets $$

Well unless something meant that I was out of a job, home and all happiness then I'd say it's minimal. Maybe then I'd lose my sense of humour. Otherwise I'm rather inclined to say fuck it all.

Here, unemployment's nearing an all time high, foreclosures are coming out of everywhere, and lack of money tends to cause more stress. So....check check and check.

Yeah but you forgot that in this 'socialist' country it's fairly hard to not have housing or money. If I got kicked out my home tomorrow I'd have a new one within a few hours and $100 a week in benefits very easily.

rules change in April - you now have to apply and be interviewed for 2 jobs before you qualify for half the DOLE.

Also, just try and get a council house.

Also, it's people like me who have worked hard who get fucked in the ass. So I can expect neither of those things. My plan if shit hit the wall was to go to Sandhurst.

I know, one of my good friends lied about applying for jobs and they found out, he now has to live on £10 a week for 6 months. :fly: pwnd.

Try and get a council house? Matey I have tits, I'm the priority over you any day of the week. And you don't even need to, there's over 100'000 empty/disused homes in the East Midlands that you can live in for free any day of the week. Know the facts and it's comforting.

Sandhurst? How very regal. Tally-ho!

East midlands, true. I could never live on a council estate.. not out of snobbery, but I can't deal with close proximity to the karen matthews of this world, and I don't much care for Coronation Street either..

Sandhurst isn't regal - but a bloody great career. Sometimes I regret not going in the first place.

An interesting spec of info that 'somehow' Kevlar left out of the initial post is that it's not just Tesla getting money for developing electronic vehicles, but Ford and Nissan getting pretty big fronts as well.

Amazing how that get left out. Was it to try and spin a point?

Why do I even get riled up by typical conservative bullshit spin behavior? I wish I knew. Maybe it's because it's blatant propagandist attempts at lies and subversion offend my sense of right and wrong.

In her defense, she was complaining about small business owners and not the big ones.

Remember when 9/11 happened. Went down on George Bush's watch, but all the conservatives yelled quite loudly then 'This is all because of things that happened during the clinton years'...

okay, almost 1 year after he took office, but whatever.

Then, last year, when the economy collapsed again, 'This is all because of things that happened during the Clinton years'.

Really? After 8 years of Bush being president?

Now, after 5 months, the economy, and everything else, that DID collapse during the previous administration, with a giant mess left for the current one to clean up, and the conservatives are blaming Obama for the entire mess.

There is no defending how conservatives deflect blame. none. For an entire administration they have done it, and now they continue to do it. When these conservatives decide to start accepting some of the blame for this shit they have put the US in to, I'll start to listen, until then, they only response from me they will get are two firmly extended middle fingers directed right back at them.

Trust me, I think it's ridiculous to blame Obama for what's going on. But you said Kevlar intentionally left something out. That's what I was defending her on. Her intent was the small business and not Tesla itself.

Mass media and cultural perception kills things faster than any one company though. Hybrids have a certain cannotation attatched to them, like minivans, and so on.

Basically, people are stupid sheep, high school never ends, and blaming something (the car companies, the government etc.) for your problems is easier than admitting a total lack of consumer demand.

Otherwise, public rail systems wouldnt have to be subsidised and more people would walk places or live in the city.

That's a horrible oversimplification of a huge problem.

And that's the kind of attitude that allows the government to walk all over you!

Liberals deflect blame too. I agree with your points and I agree with nearly everything you say in these debates. I just wanna point out that the other side isn't really any better. For instance, do we really believe that the great economy we enjoyed in the 90's was all Clinton's fault and that the previous administration had absolutely nothing to do with it?

Maybe she didn't know?

Cuz I didn't. And that irks me even more than Tesla getting money.

Everyone's been making a big deal about how Ford hasn't taken any government money....

And Nissan is a French company

:waw:

Oh, I'm with you. Neither side is perfect. However, I think liberals are more likely to take credit for shit they didn't do, which makes it a little less obvious than the blatant blame game I see from conservatives. Maybe the liberals are a little bit better at keeping their blame off the radar, I don't know. I just haven't seen as many egregious examples as I do consistantly from conservatives.

What pisses me off the most is I was a staunch republican during the reagan years. Bush #1 pushed me to the edge of insanity by shattering my trust and beliefs. Then Clinton brought me to the dark side made me love him.

I still have the stained blue dress to prove it.

LOL, you think the parties act differently. How cute.

I'm trying to figure out if you have any faith in the political system, or if you just seek to espouse untested academic libertarian dirge

found this the other day, which you might enjoy. it's an interactive graphic showing what makes and models of cars are assembled in the US, whether the factory is unionized, and where the engine and transmission come from. Gives a good idea of which cars should be considered domestic.
