I'm not paying currently. Thought of it though. The reason I use LogMeIn when compared to RDC is that it's a pain to punch holes through firewalls and NAT to get RDC working, especially when working with n00b users. It's much easier to say to the end user "go to this web site. Download this tool. Click run. Give me the ID and password." Then you have full access to the computer. Don't need to punch holes in firewall, either of those tools transverse NAT properly, etc. Plus TeamViewer and LogMeIn allow file transfer through their software, and have a chat program built in. With RDC you have to use notepad or whatever to type stuff to the end user.

The LogMeIn Rescue is slightly different from TeamViewer, in that you tell the end user to go to this web site, give me the ID displayed. Then it downloads the LogMeIn Rescue software and runs it. Whereas TeamViewer you have to get the user to download the software first and then run it.

I do like RDC when given direct access to the network where the end user is located. Which in my job is rarely. I only have a couple of my business customers set up with a VPN. I find RDC to be faster than even LogMeIn and TeamViewer.

I use LogMeIn free on my customer's servers and stuff. But it would be nice for customers who I don't have LogMeIn installed on, and don't want to installit, just for a one time purpose.

iirc, teamviewer is a one time payment, which is cool. And I love the part where there is no install needed.
