Ontopic String's and Adi's gear & pedal thread

Sure. Nothing wrong with that at all. Ibanez and Yamaha are a couple brands where even the entry level stuff is of decent quality where it counts.

You can plug into your computer or hell there's probably phone apps now to get started but you're gonna want an amplifier pretty soon.

The little 15-20 watt ones are OK just for practicing at home.
Want to jam with some people or especially with a drummer and be able to hear yourself, add a zero to that wattage.

Progression usually goes...

15 watt beginner amp.

Get good enough to jam with others and want to stick with it...100-200 watt combo amp that can handle practice with a band in the garage and do a gig down at the little corner bar.

OK I'm a bass player.....a gig rig. Meaning even more powerful amp and more speakers.

That's a nice bass, especially for the money - their Taurus series is decent too. And yeah, take it somewhere and ask them to adjust the setup, they rarely come from the factory right, sometimes not even close. It's about adjusting the bridge(where strings attach at body end), sometimes the neck curvature a little. Bad setup will make it harder to play than necessary and notes won't sound in tune where they should. Baby should have good shoes to learn to walk ;)
