Strangest power trip I've ever seen a cop on.

I leave the 5 points MARTA station and walk towards GA state. I step up to the curb and look both ways at the crosswalk. No cars that are too close, besides there's a big sign in the middle of the road that says, "STATE LAW. CARS MUST STOP FOR PEDS". I start to cross and this cop who is stopped at the crosswalk yells at me, "I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU CROSS THE STREET THAT WAY AGAIN!!!" I looked at him and pointed to the sign and kept walking. He then yelled, "DID YOU HEAR ME?!?!?" I waved without even looking back at him. He was mighty pissed that I made him stop. The absurdity of the whole thing was sureal.

why was he stopped at the crosswalk. Chances are he doesn't want to be the dude that has to clean your brains off of someone's grill. I bet that job sucks.

because there is a sign that says: STATE LAW. CARS MUST STOP FOR PEDS

And I'm sure that sign will protect you from someone doing 40 down that road? Does it transform into a concrete barricade?
