As of last week, everything except peppers and tomatoes are in the ground, and mulched

Weeding was absolute hell last year, so we mulched immediately this year.

So far cukes, bitter melon, peas, lettuce, and long beans are up.

That reminds me of beginning of the summer at my Grandfather's California house, except I'd be getting ready to squash them to make wine.

Cleared the garden yesterday, Giant ass ridiculous butternut squash

I'll be interested to find out of that gigantic one is actually tasty.

it is.

had another one that size last night. Stuff like butternut squash doesnt get woody/bad.

Also, these are are a variety that is known to get huge, they arent really overgrown at this size.
