He told me to thank you for him by proxy for realizing what the problem was.

Apparently threads started by someone you have on ignore don't show up on the main page. But they will show up as "most recent post" if it literally contains the most recent post on the forum. That would be top thread on the first page for those of us who don't have people on ignore.
