Not as bad as you'd think. One of the biggest things that actually hurt the dreamcast was that it used standard CDs for all games. It was incredibly easy to get past the copy protection and this discouraged a fair number of publishers. (Of course.... I don't have any hard numbers to back this up, just hearsy.)
