Something to add to our "wish list"...

Those *do* make excellent SHTF vehicles, because of their ruggedness, multi-fuel capability, and their spaciousness.

The problem is spare parts, and they have to be greased and oiled CONSTANTLY to avoid rust.

Not to mention, they are awfully conspicuous.

A diesel K5 Blazer, Suburban, or any 80's diesel pickup would make for a less conspicuous, still rugged, easier to maintain vehicle. With a little work they can be converted to multifuel, or heck even woodgas.

The composite plating with Kevlar wrap are the best.

For a power source you need a semi-constant 9mph wind to be of any real value, you don't really want to live anywhere with that kind of constant wind...
