Thread so we cock slapped Labia...

Leaving the fuck alone anything associated with the Greater Middle East, keep internally the oil we have and use it internally instead of selling our resources, then buying middle eastern resources. If this doesn't solve our oil needs, close up some oil power plants, finish the nuclear projects we have started years ago, and build other ones now that we know better how to build them from learning from mistakes. Invest in new strategies in plastics as well so as not to require as much oil for production.

If it is indeed all about oil.

If it's about terrorist protection in the future, I am sure having our military back home and spending those billions on training and negotiations and national guard instead of bullets with an Arabic target in mind would be more beneficial and easier being on our own soil.

You're generally well informed, but do you really not understand how capitalism works? We don't sell our oil and buy theirs. And who uses oil for power plants?

we export around 2 million barrels a day but use around 19 million, half of that imported

The United States Also Exports Oil
Because the United States is the world’s largest importer, it may seem surprising that it also exports about 2 million barrels a day of oil, almost all of it in the form of refined petroleum products. Due to various logistical, regulatory, and quality considerations, it turns out that exporting some barrels and replacing them with additional imports is the most economic way to meet the market’s needs. For example, refiners in the U.S. Gulf Coast region frequently find that it makes economic sense to export some of their gasoline to Mexico rather than shipping the product to the U.S. East Coast because lower-cost gasoline imports are available from Europe.

So, we've stopped covertly assisting with revolutions and now are just overtly saying 'Regime change? If we don't like your leader, give us a call. We've got a stockpile of shit we've just been itching to use'...

I understand the Arab league sanctioned this, but that doesn't mean much as 1) the arab league is really nothing more than a bunch of durkas sitting around drinking coffee but not doing anything but making announcements, & 2) pretty much everyone who hates the US over there probably isn't very fond of the Arab league much (if recent events in that part of the world tell us anything), but still. we've been pretty much at war for a full decade. 10 years of constant war. And really, even longer when you look at the fact that we never really stopped fighting that much since GW1.

Country is going bankrupt yet we are spending well over 600 billion a year on blowing shit up and making the US a joke. And yet we keep voting these fuckers in.

No, I'm just pointing out something different was tried by electing a new guy that promised change, and yet we are still doing the same old things. This is the reason people are looking to alternatives like the tea party, even though its turned from its original awesome idea into some extreme right deal.

And according to your link, those normally run natural gas - which is almost always domestic, and different than oil.

As per Semperfly's link, we DO indeed sell our some of our oil. And we don't sell it back to the Middle East necessarily.

Of course we do. It gets bought and sold ON THE OPEN MARKET. Some companies sell it, US companies included. Some companies buy it, US companies included.

(That's why it cracks me up when people talk about drilling ANWAR so that we can use US oil. It all goes on the market just the same.)

And the Tea Party would find, just like Obama, that they don't have any choice other than to maintain the status quo - just like Obama. This country is a house of cards and cant take "change".
