I still luv ya F33nX. I wanted to cosplay as Robin, from Witch Hunter Robin....but I wasn't allowed to cuz I would have been "too dorky".

We saw some cool Mononokie costumes. And and awesome Tsukasa from .hack. I don't know what your favorite series and stuff are tho, so I wouldn't know what to suggest.

But no stealing my Robin idea or I'm going to come and steal it back from you. :shifty:

my friend helena was witch hunter robin in '03, and she had an absolutely amazing costume. no way could i upstage her.

(btw, i tried desperately to talk your hubby into letting you cosplay as her, to no avail)

i'm thinking of either lafiel in her ballgown from Banner of the Stars, Maria from Star Ocean 3, or.....after that i'm out of ideas:(
 
Hey I've been to Otakon a few times. Few years back. There are an excessive number of dorks there...but for about every 15 dorks there's some really hot chick dressed in something skimpy. Last time I went I got my picture taken with a pornstar and got to feel her up. :D

I'd lend some cosplay ideas but I don't even know what you look like. :p

hehe, skimpy outfits are fun :D i went as my own created character last year, as well as Frey from Gundam: SEED. in previous years i've gone as sumomochan from chobits, white mage from ff1/8-bit, and cherry blossomfeather from RPG World. this year, with so much time to spend on it, i want to do something completely fantastic. maybe with wings. maybe something gorgeous like a ballgown.

if it helps to think physics-wise, i'm 5'2 with a little pudge on top of an athletic build :eek: the pudge should be gone by the time the con rolls around

Maybe I've seen you there before. Can't say I go anymore...all the anime out now is kind of boring and I don't like it anymore. Plus when I went I never cosplayed...my buddy dressed up like Kaji from Evangelion...which really only required him to wear a blue shirt, red tie and not shave for like, 3 days. He looked pretty close too. When we met the english voice actor of Asuka she dropped what she was doing and screamed out at him. It was pretty good.

As for ideas I'm not really sure. You could get a school girl outfit and go as Ashely from Resident Evil 4. Mwahahah!

it doesn't have to be terribly recent. chobits is getting old, and i went as sumomo was a HUGE hit. i've seen people do characters from voltron, eva (which is old now but still classic), love hina, totoro, etc. i've also seen people cosplay in stuff that hasn't been licensed yet (BEST costume of 03- darcia from wolf's rain, which they licenced at otakon)
 
I don't have a clue what's going on in this thread. I think we're actually helping someone who's into cosplay, while arguing if furries/larp/cosplay people are bigger droks.

Maybe a classic like Vampire Hunter D. Or what about the guy with Akira with the metal arm? Or build yourself a Gundom suit. Or some over the top guy from Dragonball. They could be cool.

I remember when the staff there was cool. There was a mod who was a doctor and this cool admin guy who left to do some gei radio show. Good times my friend, sorry you missed them.

maybe somewhere in there i should have mentioned that i'm a chick:p while i don't mind doing a male character, i just don't have the stature to pull off something like D or Alucard or a Gundam

Opps...Hmmm...What about one the girl a pokemon fighter? I don't know their names. You make a few different monsters. What about the girl from Team Rocket? I can't think of any good anime girls at the moment. Maybe the cop from Ghost in the Shell. Be her beat up with some metal showing?

You could do a 'hot chick' version. I remember I saw a group of hot asian girls do that for Vash the Stampede and Wolfwood. Short, red leather skirts = good!

I'm trying to think of some newer anime but nothing's coming to me right now. Victoria from Hellsing? Probably overdone...uhm...pirate girl from Guilty Gear X? I'm not sure. What about Dorthy from Big O? I saw some girl who went as Ed from Cowboy Bebop a few years back...she had a dog that looked just like Ein and everything.
