I'd be careful with doing a birth control study. Messing with birth control can be risky, not just in the getting preg. aspect. The drug messes with hormones and some people can have really bad reactions like with mood swings.
A woman I work with, her daughter was using the patch. She was in great shape, didn't smoke, ate right and it gave her 2 blood clots in the leg.
