I just had a project I started 2 years ago , but parked it for various reasons, start back up again and now Im trying to remember why the fuck I did all these things the way I did.
I just had a project I started 2 years ago , but parked it for various reasons, start back up again and now Im trying to remember why the fuck I did all these things the way I did.
Here's what I got.
Motor with a shaft that spins (red,) but on the motor's mounting face is a big ole disk (blue-ish) to allow the spinny thing at the bottom to stay away from the walls it will encounter.
And I can't think of how to get there from where I'm at.
Here's how I did the shaft extension for the wood chipper, basically.
There was a 2nd plate by the spinny to mount to the chipper housing, pipe was welded to the plates and I drilled holes in the pipe to allow access to the bolts on the shaft coupler.
Used a lathe to widen the end of the pipe to accept the bearing, by heating up the pipe and dropping the bearing in and letting it cool, to make it captive.
