No welding supply companies around? Ours does refills. Which is good cause my 20# has a dip tube on it so that we can easily refill the Sodastreams.
IIRC, 5# refill is like $25 and a 20# refill is like $30.

This. Even with a tank exchange, gas supply companies are going to milk your wallet much less than brewing companies.
Hell, the "beer gas" google search I did came back to it just being C25, which is actually one of the most popular welding fills.

Wow. I paid $75 for a 120 c.f. tank.
Your welding supplier must see you coming from a mile away.
My quick Google says C25 is argon. Beer gas is nitrogen/co2.

It's only $30.60 for a 20# swap.
The $90 figure was what they credited me back for the 5# cylinder.

Argon is just needed to 'seal' the headspace in the brew kettle for 24-48 hours. The bacteria need an anaerobic environment.
Beer gas is needed to actually push a nitro beer.
I get my CO2 tank refilled at a local fire extinguisher shop.
They do refilling, and do water testing for an extra few bucks if you've got an expired tank. Real convenient.

Find a local neon sign shop for your argon.
I don't know what they charge on paper but most people that work at those places are kinda weird/odd and probably charge your cylinder for a joint/beer/casual fisting.

Kegged the brown we laid down a while back.
It ended up a little light at 4.2% ABV, but great flavor and texture.
