Ontopic So, Brits... How you doing over there?

That's really odd, potatoes aren't part of any English breakfast I know. A full English would be bacon, sausage, eggs, fried tomato, mushrooms, black pudding and maybe baked beans and fried bread. You do see hash browns sometimes but that's an Americanism.

Those must be some cheap ass campuses that I had to eat in then. Every body from all around the world was living on one of the two snack machines.

And the chocolate they offered were terrible, but we had to eat it.
 
If you were getting hash browns then you really were going budget. The only place I ever see them is Wetherspoon's (cheapest pubs around) and McDonald's. They're a low cost filler for cheap breakfasts, a recent import from America.
