Share good music/film recommendations

I am currently trying to build up a respectable music and film collection. At the weekend I got myself some classics like Raging Bull, City of God, Pulp Fiction as well as some independant films but when it comes to thinking of what I should get my mind goes blank. Same for music, I decided to get all the classics so got The Who, Rolling Stones, Doors, Talking Heads etc. and then my mind went blank.

What films can you watch over and over?

Oh yeah I'll start - you should all get a copy of Withnail and I if you don't already, then proceed to watch it 100 times.

Requiem for a dream no thanks Kiki, I watched it once and I'm a million % sure I would actually sick up my stomach contents if I had to watch it again. Too upsetting.

Dictrict 9 is cool.

Same here. People keep trying to get me to watch Requiem. I'm like Why? So I can be visually traumatized?

Indeed. If a rape scene nobody knew was coming happens I usually leave the room and tell them to call me back in when it's over. A friend once recommended me a film with a violent 15 minute long rape scene in it. Not impressed.

i watched "the corporation" last night off my netflix list.


it was okay.. a doc on their origin and their impact in the world. B-

The corporation is awesome, only the tip of the iceberg on that kinda film. If you actually want more like that give me a shout shally. I got a whole folder for 'activist films' on my hdd.
