Second Life

It's trying very hard to be a virtual world, but it's not really good for anything other than chatting and poorly animated 3d porn. I swear half the population is made up of reporters hoping to hype it up so they can do their job from home.

IBWIP started looking around that place a few days ago. I didn't get very far with it myself as I kept getting hit on and it became annoying. I think I need to make my Second Life self as ugly as possible so that stops happening. It just doesn't hold my attention for very long and it seems you have to pay to do anything vaguely interesting there.

Ultima Online had something unique to offer as a new concept. Then, when it became obvious that emotionally, needy, folks were willing to cough up extra cash for virtually, a 'virtual' nothing, online communities surfaced as old murk in new guise in order to separate you from your money.
