i would consider a scooter if my commute were longer. as short as it is i just ride my bike as often as i can.

instead of a basket i use a messenger bag/pannier:

i wanted a scooter after i came back from italy, they were friggin everywhere. I have to pick up a 3-1/2 yr old from daycare on my way though, so i'd need a pretty big basket.

they were popular here for a couple years, but you don't see them much anymore, and the scooter store that opened went out of business.

wish i'd known when they went oob, apparently they let some go really cheaply, like $900 for a brand new vespa.
