that sucks man. Its still strange to me that people my age-ish have grandparents alive still
Well, now I'm fresh out.

She was 93, so that's a pretty good run, IMO. She had congestive heart failure, despite not being even a little bit overweight, I assume that's the cause.

Sorry about grandma.

My dad’s official cause of death was also congestive heart failure and he was rail thin. Hearts do what they’re gonna do.

My last grandparent died when I was 8 or 9. Only knew two of them, one from both sides of my family.

my moms parents are both still alive
my grandma is frail and i cant even imagine how my family will crumble when her time comes.
we are all so close and we ALL do so much for her and financially support them as a family

everyone has a chore
-someone does all their banking
-2 people books their doctor appts and drive them to all appointments
-me and my brother buy their clothes and shoes
-someone helps with their food
collectively we all help and that’s just the way it is.

we all spoil them and life without them one day is gonna be absolutely horrible

edit:
2 yrs ago every family member donated money to buy a little used car and 1 yr insurance for my grandpa and we gifted them. he cried.
we always do shit like that for them and no one complains.

My dads parents died way too young (in their 40s, both ended up with cancer linked to nuclear testing in the deserts out near here). I never met them. My moms parents were 94 and 92. Grandma passed away two years ago. Grandpa Passed away about 4 years ago.
