And it will give you something else to complain about!I'm going to leave it the hell alone, put my HUP copy of Microsoft Office on it, and then give my kids accounts on it.
Seems like a fine machine to run until it's dead.

I'll need to put my CLOUD KEY in it first. Y'know, so I don't have to do LOONIX.And it will give you something else to complain about!
yeah, i regret scrapping mine. I remember i was trying to break it down for the dump and i had to take the bandsaw to the chassis cause i couldnt so much as scuff it smashing it with a sledgehammerSomeone gave me 2 of those, they were kinda of dirty so I pitched them. So dumb, those fuckers are snatched up by collectors for crazy money now.
Around 97-98 I put a mint Compaq(Pentium 90 - oooooohhhh) all-in-one with the original setup discs in a box. It's in my storage area - piss, last time I looked it was only worth maybe $200 on the open market. I think my old Erector set stuff is worth more.yeah, i regret scrapping mine. I think I have successfully repaired the center channel speaker in my office by taking out each speaker basket and jiggling the connectors.

Thought that seemed odd too, but I don't really know shit about that stuff.WTF is your firmware doing to get 300k load cycles on that drive?
WD had a batch of bad firmware on their reds a few years back that would rack up the load cycles, but they released a patch to fix it.Thought that seemed odd too, but I don't really know shit about that stuff.
Looks like both of my 4TB drives (one WD and one Seagate) have this issue. I shall check this out.WD had a batch of bad firmware on their reds a few years back that would rack up the load cycles, but they released a patch to fix it.
You might look into that, if it bothers you.
Go to the product page for the drive and see what they've got?Looks like both of my 4TB drives (one WD and one Seagate) have this issue. I shall check this out.
edit: Where the fuck would I find firmware? Everything on their site seems to be for USB drives.
Ahhh, I see, they don't call it firmware on that page, just a tool to change the firmware to wait longer.Go to the product page for the drive and see what they've got?
I know the Red product page has downloads: https://support-en.wd.com/app/products/product-detail/p/288#WD_downloads
Maybe you can use the same tool to change the wait time?Ahhh, I see, they don't call it firmware on that page, just a tool to change the firmware to wait longer.
edit: And nothing for the drive I have
