I used CC points to buy a a bunch of Synology wifi gear.
It's Wave 2 AC, and very well supported by Synology. Does mesh.
Lotta Apple people use it to replace their old ass Airport hardware.
I think I'll still need to use one of the Unifi outdoor AP's for the back yard though. I'll reset it and have it run just as a standalone node, no UniFi controller.

I haven't setup the live footage yet, all I've done is hook the RTSP streams into zoneminder, and let it manage its detections and storage. Between that and the camera's detections (previously described as storing to my NFS share on a 14 day rotating basis), I've seen all the cats that piss on my weeds, and my weirdo neighbors that drive in and out of their house every hour from 8pm-2am.
