Some of you guys still listen to Atlanta radio, so I hope you listened to 99X this morning if you like their morning show as its gone, and most everyone there is fired with the exception of Axel, Matt C, and Lewis. If you turn it on monday prepare for The Burt Show as Q100 will take over the old 99.7 signal. 100.5 will now become a rock station. I haven't found the name yet but the 99X name is probably dead.

After a week or so of simulcasting The Regular Guys will be the morning show on 100.5 For those who don't stay in the area they used to be on a old rock station in Atlanta five years ago but were fired over a porn talk over an open mic (wasn't graphic but enough to fire over) They were back on the air a year later on a different station but were fired again after harassing some other guy at a sister Spanish station.

My feelings on this? I got Sirius two years ago and glad for it. Cypha Sounds Effect beats the shit out of Atlanta radio. Stop torturing yourself and come on over!

Sirius rocks, except that mine keeps breaking. I've been listening to terrestrial radio for a couple of months now and want to claw my eyes out.

Cypha in the morning kills!

Allegedly 99X will continue on as a Internet stream, or possibly on a HD-2 Stream but I haven't found a reliable source on that yet. They are also starting to say that instead of the Regular Guys they hired Steve and Vicki who used to be on Star94 if you remember that station. This is very unlikely since every other rock guy on 99x is still onboard, TRG's old producer is still there, and Vicki quit earlier this year because of blood clots. There are also conflicts on how they are going to handle the trade off, The only thing thats consistent is that Q100 will take the 99.7 signal as its stronger and is making money.

We'll know more monday morning.

so where can i find a complete listing of atlanta radio stations? seems like a few have changed recently and me and my minivan are all confused.

i've always enjoyed ATL radio when up there. i'm not familiar with the people and stations you're talking about, but their hip hop stations are usually bangin.

we have the XM radio (a gift) but have yet to hook it up. i think i would probably enjoy it. but usually i listen to albums, mixtapes, or local radio.. and i do the radio primarily to see "what's going on" in town. who's where, what nights, etc. listen to the mixshows to see what's hot (or at least whatever they're programming the masses to request in the club ad nauseum, lmao).

this robin thicke CD i'm listenin to right now is pretty tight. if you like a falsetto-y type r&b cat. thumbs up.

not to thread jack, but any tampa heads listen to bubba last week?? i saw a write up in the paper and it said a local advocacy group was recording all his shows and would file an FCC complaint if he had porn stars on as scheduled in the future.

then wild 98 has a LOCAL (tampa is awesome) porn star on one night last week.

WTF??!!!

as i understand it radio is run, in terms of PC-ness, according to "community standards". always tripped me out to be in atlanta and they bangin this dirty south hip hop but none of the jocks can say bitch and ass and whatnot, the "clean" cusswords.. oh, that's funny just to type. and then on sunday morning all the HH stations are playing gospel. i guess cause it's bible belt.

cause they drop "ass" and "ho" on the radio all the time down here and i would probably consider our region to be more whitebread. conservative maybe? mostly because of all the retirees and transplants.

(now we do have a lotta strip clubs)

Thats the beauty of radio/television... If you dont like it turn it off. If you are worried about your kids listening to it, pay attention to your kids. If you cant pay attention full time, your kid is a teenager and is now as fucked up as the rest of us.

Yes, but people want the government to raise their kids. Today's parents are too busy trying to afford that new SUV and 6 bedroom house they don't need.
fuck the FCC, it has no authority to restrict any goddamn thing on the airways
According to the Constitution they are? Do you hate the Constitution?

good post fly. actually had a parent of a student tell me one time, yelling in the front office "the SYSTEM HAS LET ME KIDS DOWN!!" i wanted to say, but couldn't, "ma'am, they're not the system's kids. THEY'RE YOURS!!!!"

this fucking sense of entitlement that people have is buns.

she wanted a "disability" check because her kid acted up in school. FUCKING DISCIPLINE YOUR COT DAMN CHILD!!! ain't nothin wrong with that kid, he just don't have any consequences at home for poor behavior. but if it gets pushed thru, that he has an "impairment" (rolls eyes) then she will get ANOTHER (on top of the free lunch, the subsidized housing, the free xmas turkeys and bikes, etc) check from our tax monies. it's bullshit.

you guys have no idea. years ago at another school there was a kid in another class actin up all the time. i pulled him aside and was like what's the deal? you act fine all morning and then lose it at lunch (or some shit). the kid said, and I quote, "My mom TOLD ME TO ACT CRAZY AT LUNCH".

the fuck outta here... husltin, plain and simple. hustlin MY fuckin tax dollars.
