Question for Fat Burger

Have you spent any time in the eastern Oregon desert region (Painted Hills, John Day Fossil Beds, etc.)? If so is it a cool place to visit or hike? I'm looking for vacation spots I've never been to, and I love the outdoors, especially arid spots. The Grand Canyon, Palo Duro canyon, the Nevada desert, etc. Any insight would be appreciated if you have any.

But then all of the rest of the people on the forum can't post things like "Oh hey, I went here once and really liked it, you might check it out" etc.
