Question about thumb drivers

:( is that a no? because it looks perfectly shiny and clean and I even found the lid!

... it was washed in cold...
 
your best bet is to make sure it is thoroughly dry before plugging it into your computer...might want to wait a couple of days. I'm not sure how water and detergent would affect it.
 
My experience is that they can survive a wash cycle if you let them dry out completely before using them again. They will not survive the dryer though.
 
I had one go through my washer AND dryer twice. And it continued to work great till I lost it. It was a free 256meg one that I got free with my laptop.
 
if my old Nokia can survive a wash and dry cycle, I think your thumb drive can make it. Like theac said, make sure it is completely dry (open it up and let it dry) first, it should work. Though, it would prolly help if you whipped the contacts clean with some alcohol to get off any soap film that may be left on it.
