This is not your usual Vampire anne rice novel. This is like Anne Rice with a bit of the Maquis de Sade in her. Great series though. And if you like the first book, it gets much more ... interesting ... in the other two. It is the Sleeping Beauty story that you know, but it picks up on what happens after the charming prince wakes her up. Let's just say it's not your usual fairytale ending. I don't want to give anything away, just read it.
