They say they were the same parent Corp or incestuous follow-on corporate holdings or something.

If there's any truth to it, after much grandstanding the two halves of the monoparty will coalesce and see to it this thing never makes it to discovery.

We (collectively) won a small victory here some years back after they brought in the electronic machines in that now there's at least a paper backup, that's unique to you, with your choices printed on it, in plain words anyone can read, not code or something, that's presumably in a box in some big warehouse somewhere.

Before that there was no plain paper record. Like you'd need a team of computer science guys to go through to see everything was right if there were anomalies or something.

Was cool in that people who would normally be at complete odds with each other politically teamed up to at least try to see you could believe the scoreboard.

Maybe they all thought the other one was trying to screw them over but it still happened.

Yeah, we do paper ballots with electronic tabulation here, so all the hard work is still on the machines doing the counting after we slip the ballot through the scanner.
