This is more than just a good quip, it's something literally everyone regardless of politics should be going wtf over.

It's literally a possibility that some 18 year old private that got sent to Afghanistan fresh out of AIT now has an 18 year old child fresh out of AIT getting sent to Afghanistan ...

I'm just really fucking tired of people asking "how are we gonna pay for that?" or selling a line of TINSTAAFL bullshit when someone talks about "free" healthcare or college like it's novel or clever to explain that goods and labor have costs associated with them when they have selective memory when it comes to outrageous "defense" spending. the entire "everything I don't like is socialism, but thank Supply Side Jesus for corporate welfare, now let's get out there and turn brown kids into skeletons" take sucks farts

Part of the reasoning behind me saying things like, "national defense can be pretty affordable, it's national offense that gets spendy".

This is what happens when congress approves a war on “terror”. Now you don’t have to approve any other wars, you just say it’s terror and you’ve got a free war pass.
