I’ve frequented many institutions (on both sides of the glass) and the person that sticks in my head the most is a gal that thought she could find the right cinderblock to get out. She would spend all the time allowed out of her cell trying to find the loose block.

Her family made sure she’d commit enough crimes to be housed long-term. No kidding. They couldn’t afford a decent place for her and jail was kinder than any state-run facility for mental health.
Mental health is definitely not cared for enough.I will agree 100% on that front.

It's relatively easy to find a job. The more picky he is, the harder it will be. There is absolutely nothing wrong with flipping burgers if it pays the bills. As long as he's of a sound mind, there's no reason that within 7 years he wouldn't have the skills to manage that place. At that point he has new doors that will open etc.

There are ways to make it happen. He's the deciding factor.
Nobody's hiring a guy pushing 60 to flip burgers.

No true. I managed a McDonalds (I was 18 at the time).

You know what a 60yr old has going for him that young'ns don't? Reliability.

I had a retired couple (they were probably closer to 70 than 60) working in my store. 38 hrs/wk each. Never missed a shift, flawless employees.

I never see any old people working in McDonald's. I'm just saying. Even the managers are usually on the young side. That's anecdotal, but it's what I've seen. I'm sure it varies from place to place.

Mostly I think what's important is to be able to be in a mindset to apply yourself everywhere. (I think we all have a natural tendency to get stale)

The daughter of the barn owner (where I keep the horse) graduated college a year ago & worked part time at another barn giving riding lessons. Lived at home, had dreams of getting a job in her major. something Agricultural. Lived here, near chicago, but wanted to be in KY so was looking for AG jobs down there. Interviewed at 2, both stressed to her they really wished she had experience. Sorry-no job for u. sadness ensues. I told her that she's got to get the lingo down and put herself in a position that they'll be missing out if they don't hire her on the spot, and to stop trying only AG stuff. Go to KY, and get a job in anything while you're looking for an AG job. She finally came to her senses. I told her that after I got hired for my first big-boy job, at the end of the interview, the GM asked me "So, what's a Food Expediting Specialist?" Me: smiled at him. "Waiter." :p

Its the new normal. The US is playing catch up on this form of political influencing and until it starts directly effecting the GOP at a national level there won't be a fix put in place.

I'm curious what Russia's end game is.
To split the US into two camps, I expect. Keep us too busy fighting each other to notice when they start taking countries back.
