WTF Parents are the reason the next generation are entitled pussies

Lying down in a cemetery because they lost a football game? What kind of weird shit is this? Coach should be fired because he's a shit coach.

And fuck me parents are becoming the be all and end all excuse for everything these days. Don't like something about society? BLAME THE PARENTS!

Please explain why you feel he should be fired.

Where does it say anything about parents complaining?

I can spoon feed you more if you like

"He took the responsibility," Tice said, explaining why he did not fire Marsh, the newspaper reported. "You probably could have talked to some who would like his resignation. But you would have found just as many who supported him. I can't make everybody happy. I felt this is an inspired solution that will lead to healing."

A) Was the detour approved? You can't just take other people children where ever you feel like.

B) He sucks as a coach. If you are taking your football team to a cemetery to motivate them then you are a fucking idiot.

Wouldn't his time be used more effectively if he maybe made the kids practice more and run plays and stuff? Laying in a graveyard does seem bizarre to me. I think the guy is weird, but then there is no law against being weird as far as I'm aware. At worst he took the kids on an unapproved field trip. I can see being reprimanded for that. I don't see how complaining about this bizarre behavior is reflective of what is wrong with the country. I mean, it's not like the parents were asking that their kids be rewarded for not winning a game. They were just asking that the kids not be subjected to the odd whims of a strange coach who liked a movie.

Shit similar to this happened all the time when we were kids. Why are we so uptight? Its a cemetery big deal..

Oddly enough, some people think of cemeteries as sacred places, not football training camps. I know it's hard to tell from all the religious symbolism all over most of them, but it's true.

Been to Arlington lately?

That place has been more desecrated by commercialism than this act is responsible for.

Gettysburg? Same thing.

The cemetery just makes him a weird coach. It's the fact that he took the children to a place the parents had not approved first. If you take my child to chucky-cheese without my permission I'll be extremely pissed.

Yeah, I've been to both of those places. They are pretty close to my home. Never seen any football training at either of them though. I've seen funerals and war reenactments. Most of what happens at Arlington is funerals. Most of what happens at Gettysburg is tourism. Sometimes you see them in TV shows and stuff and I guess that's commercialism, but most of what actually happens at Arlington is, well, you know, death related. Most of what happens at Gettysburg is war history related. At any rate, I'm not saying that this sort of thing doesn't happen but I can see how some people would be confused by this coaches choices and may not like them.

I'm not a religious person so I'm not personally offended, but there's a whole lot of very religious people out there who might think differently. I really just believe that if that coach wants his team to win there are more effective ways to get them to do so. There's tons of more conventional team building activities. Take them to a confidence course or play some team building type games. Run some plays, or toss around a football. These things seem more reasonable.

Placating random US parents is what's causing the problem. Just shut the fuck and let them teach or pull them out of school. Your choice.

Schools need to start taking a stand.
