So what do you do for a living?

Mind-numbing, low-paying data entry, at least until I go to grad school in the fall. I didn't finish the film major though. I worse wasted lots of money changing majors over and over again in college.

What if the kids are paying Liam? My dad died when I was 11 and he had life insurence plus I got death benefits from social security and the VA all of which more than paid for my room and board.

I highly doubt that situation. But regardless, it wouldn't matter. If the kids got money, then they can get their own place when they are of age to do so. Until then, they should abide by the rules of whoever's house they are in.

Another question, if it's the biological parents house does that mean they don't have to obey the stepparent? I often told my stepfather he had no authority in the house that my father paid for.

eh... usually their rules means restricting stuff, not being more liberal about stuff. kiki actually has a point.

so yea, if you don't think they should watch certain things while at your house, thats fine. shouldn't go off letting them watch stuff they normally don't get to see though without the primary caregivers input.

That's fine. The rules would more often than not be restrictive ones.. It seems NME has her wits about her taking the time to think this through.

I think it's really rather simple. The rules are as the full-time parent would want them or even more restrictive if the absent parent says so. Under no circumstances should they be allowed to watch things their mother would disapprove of. It's bit like when my mother fed my son a burger when we were vegetarian as she didn't agree with it. She had no right to break my rules. How you decide on restrictions between you and their father is a matter entirely for the two of you as long as neither oversteps their mothers limits.

Disagree.

Those rules should not extend to developmental decision making. We aren't talking about when they should brush their teeth and go to bed. These are issues that should involve only the mother and father, and Nemo should be cognizant enough to stay out of that process. "Ask your father" is the correct response, in my opinion, if the kids ask her a question about it. She is the man's girlfriend. She is not the guardian of those children. I hope she understands that.

I would be furious if my son's mom allowed her boyfriend to decide what is or is not appropriate for my kid. Just the other day my son called me from her boyfriend's house to ask me if he could watch one of the Harry Potter movies. We make those decisions together. I imagine that you wouldn't take it very well if Juli moved in with another man who made judgment calls about E's recreation without including your input.

People can consult a fucking shaman if they want to. Who are you to suggest controlling who the other parent consults?

I'm the other half of that kid, that's who.

Right. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be consulted, but you have no right to control who else your baby momma consults. You can't honestly be suggesting that, can you? If she believes in the FSM, how are you going to stop that and why?
