So I am doing data work for a business associate who is paying me 10% to recover this fax page. So far I have gotten it darker by just using the copier to darken the original but that only did so much obviously. If I can recover the entire document I will be around $600 on top of my hourly, which I desperately need right now!

I know there is not much you can do cause it is a 5 year old fax that is in crappy condition and was originally way to light to read. I just wondered if any of you funky people had a different way of approaching this. I have the ability to scan it and dont mind sharing the document individually since none of you work in the same industry. Most of the numbers are there but some are just to garbled/light to read. I am sure this is a stretch but is there any kind of number recognition software for something like this? Basically that is what I have been doing by hand but its hard to tell like 6's from 8's.

Thanks for any help or insight you can give me, it means a lot!!

I guess its about the same as the original on 1200dpi... if anyone is interested in tinkering with it let me know. Its 12mb tho so I am not sure how I would send it to ya

I would love ya forever!!! hehe

So I am using Nero PhotoSnap and it has options for...

exposure
color balance
lens distort
brightness and contrast
noise
sharpen
hot pixel fixer
fignetting

Anyone point me to the proper tool or is that to hard to explain?

aren't there services out there that do this? don't they recover pictures and film? call one to see if they have suggestions, or what they charge. :iono:

you need to go all csi on this bitch...cover it in mayonnaise, dump iron filings on it and then throw it in the microwave

bwahahahahaha...

I honestly was thinking, couldnt I find a software that reads the indents off the paper then...

oh yeah its a copy and I am not a forensics specialist :fly:

The guy who wants this goes "only do the ones that arent guesses". I dont think he realized that I am guessing on 90% of them
