NJ cops kick in door over bird's cries for help

Neighbors called police Wednesday morning after hearing a woman's persistent cry of "Help me! Help me!" coming from a house. Officers arrived and when no one answered the door, they kicked it in to make a rescue.

But instead of a damsel in distress, officers found a caged cockatoo with a convincing call.

There's not much reason to think something unreasonable if it never was reasonable in the first place. It' been reiterated that the 4th amendment is generally there for the probable cause part not a general protection from search.

The original version is slightly clearer:

That general warrants, whereby any officer or messenger may be commanded to search suspected places without evidence of a fact committed, or to seize any person or persons not named, or whose offense is not particularly described and supported by evidence, are grievous and oppressive and ought not to be granted.
