Need help from a tech oriented person

Ok, I have an idea that I need help with. I need someone who knows how to convert the way a device interprets information. For example, if I had a device that detects scents and I wanted it to tell me if they smell good or bad given that the device already knew the diff between good and bad. I need someone who can take electronic equipment and reprogram it. Any thoughts?

I have a feeling you're looking for a pocket device that will flash either "That Smells Good!" or "That Fucking REEKS!" on it in order to prove or disprove to your friends that in fact your farts smell like roses.
