Because she used it to get a scholarship and positions on committees as the black representative. There's an element of fraud.
It doesn't matter when it comes to the job. If you are white, black, asian... whatever it's all good IMO. The issue I have with this lady is her lying on applications and talking about hate mail that likely never happened.
I get wanting to dye your hair, give a perm, tan or whatever... but to do it to try to trick someone into thinking you are something you are not for attention is silly. Especially if race doesn't matter. If race really mattered for her job, I'd understand it... just like I understand why some mixed race people passed themselves off as white only because otherwise they wouldn't have freedoms. So it can matter but for what she does, her race shouldn't matter.
You have no issues with people lying like that? Sorry but trust is important to me and I would fire her ass if she worked for me.

Sadly this causes 2 things to happen.
One is that you can look at them and be relieved you're not 'that' crazy. The other is that you need a better excuse!

It strikes me as the same as people who pretend to have some kind of illness for attention. Even of you don't directly take money from someone for that it's still a dishonest thing to do. You can't play the cancer card if you don't have cancer and you can't play the race card if you are white.
