Halp Midlife crisis

Would any of you do a crazy trip like this? Am I going crazy?
I once drove for 18 hours to get fireworks, just to shoot those fireworks at the person who rode with me to get them. I drove from Tallahassee to California, then back again and went 1500+ miles out of my way to see some pretty rocks. I am planning on driving to Montana this summer by way of Minnesota (roughly an hour south of the Canadian Border.)
I have driven to the point where I saw I-10 turn into a one lane dirt road, I have seen the hidden salt water sea in the middle of the United States, I have driven through lands where folks are legitimately nice to each other.

I would do that shit in a heartbeat.

If you take a southernly route, it's all desert. Since the finish line this year is in Siberia (logistic and expense reasons) you would just stay in Russia instead of getting 2 or more visas for other countries. But it is more northernly route which is colder.
Oh that'll be nice for Brony's clearance level...

I have done a couple classic car rallies the Touge California, the Touge 80s, and the Touge New Mexico, and I yearn for something with a scope that's just a little larger.

I might try Rally America or the Dustball before I go whole hog and do a Peking to Paris.

But I'm not sure what scale you've done personally yet, @dbzeag
My trip was just a 3 week excursion to see as many people from UF as I could in my Ford Fusion. was around 5400 miles.

if i had to guess, id say it was Minnesota or something.
I did the MN and back trip with chim in my Prius C with 12 cases of beer last year. Twas excellent hitting 85mph in 95F heat with that much weight in my little city car. The gas mileage was appalling.

Looking at the prices of used cars in the UK, I have to ask how. The same cars in the US in worse condition are more than twice as much (after exchange rates). Just how bad is the depreciation of a car in the UK? A two year old Toyota is the same price as a brand new Toyota in the US.

Socialism clashes with Capitalism.
