There have been eight or nine soldiers that have gone missing and/or found dead. The newest to go missing had to transfer units because he had reported sexual assault at his old unit.

Seriously - it's low pay, lot of young peeps who had few options outside the military. Add some boredom and a general feeling of your life is on hold until you escape the self-subscribed few years of fear and fucktarding and you get crime.

Some of those deaths were bodies that were discovered some time later, meaning all the killings didn't happen in a real short time frame. They're just finding out about them in a short time frame.

Still it's a lot more and frequent than usual though. It's not like they're finding them years after the fact or something.

Something is off about that place.

There ain't much to do there. They find a few around that lake because it's one of few places local to go do something other than a bar or just getting wasted at the barracks.

Bunch of em used to come down here to party on weekends just for some entertainment, or be someplace everyone doesn't know who you are, or you not gonna run into your 1st Sgt. or CO while you're uptown up to no good.


Also some big combat arms units there. The kind that train hard, go to the field for 30-45 days at a time, etc. When those guys get a chance to blow off steam they really blow it off. And usually get pretty stupid in the process.

Doesn't excuse anything or even explain it much really. Just sayin what kinda place it is.
