Well, part of it was this.

I waited the first 6 months because I was a lazy fucker and missed my benefits enrollment date, so that particular year, I didn't have health insurance coverage. ooops. And I knew/suspected what was going on up there, knew it was expensive as fuck, and said 'Okay, I hope it don't kill me before the next open enrollment period'.

So, then I got insured, and waited 3 more months out of sheer terror at what was coming next.

Hey, I've had similar scary shit involving my ticker. I have a "minor" condition that should correct itself, but I have to go through rounds of scans, ultrasounds and chest x-rays every few years now apparently to make sure it doesn't become something serious.

Some scotch will cure that right up. Or it might have caused it
