just start firefox in full screen mode without any buttons. disable virtual desktops, app switching and toolbars.

It seems you're either thinking a little more shortsighted or are trying to create undue work for me. There is more to securing a kiosk than simply running firefox in kiosk mode. And I'm well aware that I can dig into Linux and build one, but I really don't have the time for that. There are plenty of kiosk packages pre-built, I'm just looking for one that I can install to a hard drive.
