I say 'Why not wait until you build the tablet as it should be'...

what you get. WiFi only. 7" screen (really? 7"? Pointless waste).

No Camera. No Microphone.

From what I have read, this is just a 'stopgap' tablet until they can make a real one.

This is not the iPad killer. A 7" screen, to me, is useless.

The new screen isn't e-Ink. Think of it as a large Droid X with half the capabilities.

it's based on the blackberry playbook. the same company that made the playbook is making this with only some minor tweaks. I'm hearing it sucks already

doing a little more research, the fire only has 8gb of internal memory. I wonder if you could pick up a 64gb playbook on the cheap(see link below) and put the fire OS on it?
you could pay $200 for 8gb or $200 for 64gb. touch choice there.

Even amazon is referring to it as a tablet, and marketing it with the ability to add aps. That takes it past mere e-reader status, imho.

Yes, of course it can run apps. Its still an e-reader first. That's their market! That's why its still called a Kindle.
