No problems with Nintendo's first wave pretty much ever. I've bought launch day twice.
Then what's Sony's excuse? It's a year newer and only does 1080p 60fps just like the WiiU.
That wasn't the point. Read, comprehend, post. The point was they're no more cutting edge than year old Nintendo hardware Domon calls 5 years old.
I did. I suspect when you reread it again, you'll realize you missed a spot in the comprehension category.
There's not really much pushing the limit in the PS4.
- There's new silicon, but hopefully it's gone through the same verification process used in every other AMD product - and you don't often hear about their CPUs or GPUs being DOA
- Electrical interfaces (GDDR5/whatnot) are well established in existing video cards etc
- No new power/thermal management challenges I know of
- Reliable lead-free assembly (the main cause of the 360's RROD) is pretty much solved now by the electronics manufacturing industry.
There's a claim going around that disgruntled Foxconn employees were sabotaging PS4s, dunno what the truth in that is.

They have had issues with every single launch too. I remember I was lucky to get a working PS2 back in the day, like half the launch day ones had broke ass dvd drives.
My ps4 works great. I like the new console design. All except i don't know where to touch it to eject the disc.
